Glencoe, Rannoch Moor, The Great Glen, Glen Affric & Loch Ness
The glacial valley of Glencoe stretches from Rannoch Moor to Loch Leven - and awe-inspiring landscapes and dramatic mountain scenery awaits. A tour of Glencoe is an unforgettable bucket-list event - the spectacular and beautiful scenery is considered to be one of the world’s finest landscape photography locations. The variety of mountains, lochs and beautiful landscapes on our Glencoe adventure tours is unsurpassed.
Rannoch Moor is a beautiful and wild landscape with mountains and lochs on either side. The iconic mountain ridge of Buchaille Etive Mor marks the entrance to Glen Etive with its many falls along the River Etive. Lochan Urr is a particularly lovely loch, with delightful views of the surrounding mountains reflected in its waters. And a herd of resident red deer also frequent this area, offering a superb opportunity for a spot of wildlife photography.
Further north, “Nessie” (the world-famous Loch Ness Monster) is just one of the many myths and legends to be discovered in this particularly beautiful region of Scotland. Loch Ness, with depths reaching 700 feet and a length of more than 20 miles, is the largest loch by volume in Scotland. The Great Glen, once strategically important in controlling the Highland Clans during the 18th century Jacobite Rising, now offers visitors an unforgettable experience.
Heather-covered hills, glistening lochs and wild natural landscapes await you throughout this beautiful stretch of the Highlands. Glen Affric has been described as the most beautiful glen in Scotland - a hotly contested category. The River Affric runs along its length, passing through Loch Affric and Loch Beinn a’ Mheadhoin. This wild and magical location is not to be missed on any tour of Scotland.
